On Thursday, Kangana Ranaut’s sister Rangoli Chandel account was suspended by Twitter. Many celebrities like Hansal Mehta, Farah Khan Ali, Kubbra Sait and Reema Kagti called her out for spreading religious hatred. Now, Kangana Ranaut has released a video for the public in which she’s defending her sister’s words along with opposing the allegations put on her by stars like Reema and Farah.
In the video, Kangana clarifies that her sister does not think that all Muslims are terrorists. She says what her sister actually meant was that the ones who do not corporate with the doctors and police should be punishable. The caption for the video read, “#KanganaRanaut address the controversy around #RangoliChandel’s tweet, and why freedom of speech is important in a democracy.”
Towards the end of the video, Kangana appealed to the Central government that platforms like Twitter should be demolished from the country and we should work on making independent social media platforms. Kangana also went on to defend wrestler Babita Phogat after she faced a similar out lash as Rangoli post her remarks on Islamic sect.
